APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING

Apprenticeship training comprises formalized state and federal training programs that include a wage progerssion pay scale and documented On-the-job training (OJL) and related theoretical instruction. Apprenticeship programs require 2,000 hours of OJL and 144 hour of related instruction per year. Most traditional apprenticeship programs require four-years of OJL and related instruction to complete the program. An apprentice is a paid trainee who participates in a formal aprrenticeship program. Tainiees who complete an apprenticeship program will recieve their state and/or federal certificates of completion, achieving a journeyman-status worker's wage.

ABC is a trade association that works with the construction industry throughout Western Colorado. The Construction Craft Training Program is reconized by the Department of Labor (DOL), and the Department of Veterns Affairs (VA). ABC's training program also operates under the guidelines of the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). For more information on the NCCER visit there link at www.nccer.org

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN. Students enrolled in the Construction Craft Training Program learn real-life and real-time skills. Best of all you have the oppurtunity to "Earn as you learn." While the curriculum components of the program teaches you the application and theory behind your chosen trade, your on-the-job learning will provide simultaneous application fo the skills and knowledge that you are gaining.
